MISSION TRIP OVERVIEW

A mission trip with Honduras Compassion Partners is a hands-on opportunity to serve the people of La Paz, Honduras through practical acts of compassion. Teams may help with clean water initiatives, home construction, community outreach, medical services, training, sports camps and education support—while building meaningful relationships and experiencing the power generational change through service. Whether you’re skilled or simply willing to help, your presence can bring hope and lasting impact.

DETAILS OF GOING ON A MISSION TRIP

COST

The cost is typically between $600-$800 per person. This price includes lodging, transportation in Honduras, meals, and most projects. 

*NOTE: Airfare is not included in this price.

Teams fly into the brand new Palmerola International Airport in Comayagua (XPL) just a 15-minute drive from La Paz where you serve. Teams are met at the airport by HCP staff.

Honduras requires that your US* passport be valid for 6 months after your scheduled date of return to the United States. You will not be allowed to travel if your passport is not valid for this length of time. Please make sure you have a valid US passport or apply for one ASAP. New passports and passport renewals can take as long as 3 months to process.

*Travelers with a passport from a country other than the US should verify visa and/or other requirements before planning travel to Honduras.

The brand new HCP Mission House is located in the town of La Paz, Honduras about 1 mile from the Center Square, and only 15 minutes from the airport. It is located on 17 beautiful acres with mountain views. The house is 4,000 square feet and has 7 comfortable bedrooms with 3 beds in each room, 7 full bathrooms with hot showers, and sleeps up to 21 people. HCP provides all meals while in Honduras. Travelers are responsible for their own meals at the airports.

Honduras does NOT require proof of vaccinations to enter the country. It is suggested that you consult with your doctor and the Center For Disease Control to determine recommended vaccinations. More information can be found at: nc.cdc.gov/travel/destinations/traveler/none/honduras

There is a 24-hour medical clinic nearby the mission house that provides quality urgent care. They do not accept insurances but are reasonably priced by US standards. They accept credit cards.

Catastrophic trip insurance is required for each traveler. This covers the expense of your emergency medical evacuation from Honduras in the unlikely event you need it. This does not include reimbursement if you find it necessary to cancel your trip for personal reasons. This cost is not included in the mission fee and averages $35* per person.

Family Team
Designed for families to serve together through children’s ministry, VBS-style activities, and community meals. Children are welcome, with a minimum age of 5.

Construction Team
Focused on building homes and infrastructure projects that meet critical community needs. Mature children are welcome when accompanied by an adult.

Rotary Team
Opportunities for Rotary Club members to serve together through service projects that align with Rotary values and community development initiatives.

Community Team
Centered on community meals and home construction, this team serves families through hands-on projects and relationship building. Mature children are welcome when accompanied by an adult.

Women’s Team
A women-only team focused on encouragement, service, and building meaningful relationships within the community.

Men’s Team
A men-only team focused on hands-on service, leadership, and community impact projects.

Church Team
Designed for church groups with a focus on sharing the gospel and participating in a variety of service projects. Mature children are welcome when accompanied by an adult.

Medical & Dental Brigade
Focused on providing medical and dental care to the community. Licensed and trained medical professionals are encouraged to participate.

Firefighter & Emergency Response Training Team
Dedicated to providing training and education to local emergency response personnel. Certified firefighters and emergency response trainers are encouraged to participate.
